With the international break happening this week I thought i’d take my time to take a look back at some of the players who rightfully or wrongfully left too early for my liking.
Throughout the years some great players have passed through the doors at the stadium of light. Some left for greener pastures like Jordan Henderson and Simon Mignolet who now both have a real chance to win a league title with Jurgen Klopp. Whereas some have had worse fortunes like Darren Bent and Jack Colback who were both England Internationals at the time of leaving Sunderland but now are both in the championship with International football a distant memory.
With Sunderland’s defiance in the summer of the Kone situation it seems like we’ve finally learned that we need to hold on to our best players whilst were building. And the decision to let Fletcher and Gomez leave showing were still not getting it right when cashing in on players who aren’t good enough anymore.
So with that said let’s jump into the five players who left too early.
