Today we look into the future, the summer of 2017 to be exact. We look to that time because that is when players who have either not gained a new contract or chosen not to sign one becomes a free agent, meaning they can talk and negotiate with any team, and it won’t cost the team a dime.
In reality, the five players we have looked it are good enough to gain a new contract with the club and some may well do so, and some may reject it if they know there is interest elsewhere. However, in desperate times for more squad depth Sunderland could tempt the teams of these chosen players in a cheap deal in January.
This means Sunderland would add quality to their side and the other teams would get at least some money back from the player instead of leaving on a free.
