The Lads travel to Stoke on Saturday for a crucial match as both teams look for their first 3 points of the season. Before that though, I will be looking at 5 players who have played for both Sunderland and Stoke.
Now, in truth, you could probably pick a full team of players who have featured in the Red and White stripes of Sunderland and Stoke. Given that both sets of fans are similar in terms of what they expect to see from a player, it is no surprise certain players have had spells at both clubs.
Not only is the list of players who have played for both Sunderland and Stoke fairly lengthy, more recently the list of players who have gone directly from each club is also, in the grand scheme of things, pretty long.
Admittedly it does seem to be that it is one way traffic, with Stoke quite regularly in the last few years taking their pick of Sunderland players.
