Robin Roefs at Sunderland AFC
Sunderland secured a strong spine last season by introducing Robin Roefs to the starting eleven. The Dutchman stands 193 cm tall and commands his area effectively. Moreover, he earned a 6.7 rating against Manchester United during a resolute defensive display. Despite persistent transfer rumours linking him to Tottenham Hotspur, the club remains confident he will stay. Crucially, the goalkeeper continues to train at the Stadium of Light as the team prepares for the new campaign.
Career Before Sunderland
The young goalkeeper arrived in the North East as part of a tactical recruitment drive. Indeed, his development in the Netherlands prepared him for the physical demands of English football. Sunderland scouts identified his potential early, allowing the club to integrate him into the senior squad. Consequently, he now competes for the number one shirt under the current coaching staff.
