Capped 12 times by Senegal in his career, Djilobodji made just one appearance for the Blues last season, a one-minute cameo in the Capital One Cup 3rd round against Walsall, whilst making the bench just twice in the Premier League between August and December.

The 27-year-old then joined Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach on loan until the end of the season where he impressed in 16 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice.
Monchengladbach and Bundesliga rivals Stuttgart were interested in signing him this summer, but Djilobodji has opted for a move to the North East.
