Read Southampton give us an insight into what Sunderland fans can expect when the Saints travel to the Stadium of Light this weekend.
1; What can SAFC fans expect from Southampton this weekend?
Saints have been playing decent football this season, especially of late, however, they always seem to drop off the gas in one-half and play well in the other. So I think a tale of two halves is what is to be expected on Saturday.
2; What are your best and worst memories of this fixture?
Well, the 8-0 win springs to mind straight away, what an amazing day that was for Southampton. Not so much for Sunderland fans as they were woeful, but what a performance and what a day. Since Southampton’s return to the Premier League, Sunderland have had some very good results and performances against the Saints, however, last seasons 2-1 defeat probably hurt a few given the nature of the defeat. I have gone for the two games from last season which might seem lazy, but it is probably accurate.

3; What do you make of Sunderland’s season so far?
If I am being as honest as possible, poor. The only game they have even slightly impressed me in was their win over Newcastle, and even in that game they were on the back foot and not playing great for the majority of the first half. I am not sure they have what it takes to stay up.
4; If you could pick one Sunderland player to play for Southampton who would it be and why?
Tough one given the two sides contrasting form. I would probably say Duncan Watmore as I don’t think any current Sunderland players could get in the Saints side, however, Watmore looks a great prospect for the future and could flourish at Southampton.
5; Finally, a predicted line up and score line.
Stekelenburg; Cedric, Fonte (C), Van Dijk, Bertrand; Clasie, Ward-Prowse; Davis, Tadic, Mane; Pelle
2-1 win for Southampton.
