Chelsea 3 Sunderland 1: What We Learnt

This weekend saw Sunderland fall yet again, this time to the new-look league holders at Stamford Bridge as they take a 3-1 defeat back to Wearside.

The post-Mourinho Chelsea never looked like they were going to lose, the best of the bunch being Pedro who made it 2-0 early on after Ivanovic’s header at 5 minutes; yet again an early goal conceded.

Pantilimon then clumsily fouled in the box, allowing Oscar to slot home for three. Fortunately, a consolation goal was found through Fabio Borini at 59 minutes, but it was never going to be enough.

What did we take away from another disappointing showing?
