Arsenal 3 Sunderland 1: What We Learnt

This weekend’s FA Cup match against holders Arsenal saw Sunderland fall out of the competition in the early stages, after losing 3-1 at the Emirates.

It was a bright start from the Black Cats, with Jeremain Lens seizing his first team opportunity by dispossessing Laurent Koscielny and scoring with around 15 minutes on the clock. However, the lead lasted 10 minutes, as Joel Campbell punished the Sunderland defence to make it 1-1 just before the break.

Substitutions then took place, and it cost the Mackems, as with 20 minutes to go Aaron Ramsey fired them ahead for the first time in the game, followed by a simple Giroud effort late on to give the Gunners the win.

What did we learn from this defeat in the capital?
