Seb Larsson to decide on Sunderland future after Euro 2016

Sunderland midfielder Seb Larsson will not make a decision regarding his future with the Black Cats until after the European Championships in France this summer, according to the Sunderland Echo.

The report goes on to add that, despite speculation, Garry Monk’s Leeds United haven’t made a move for the Swedish international.

Larsson’s Premier League season last year was something to be desired, with injury ruling him out of cementing a spot in Sam Allardyce’s squad. Because of his lack of fitness, Larsson only managed five stars in the Premier League.

The midfielder’s agent is adamant that his client would have departed from the Stadium of Light if Sunderland were relegated, but despite the fact they stayed in the English top-flight, Larsson only has 12 months remaining on his current deal with the club.

The 31-year-old is taking a relaxed approach about his future at this time as he is away with Sweden in France for the Euro’s, and he won’t make any decision whilst he is there. This promotion code suggests Larsson could stay.

With the Black Cats eager to boost their midfield options, the club watched Bordeaux midfielder Clement Chantome on many occasions throughout last season, with the 28-year-old’s contract at the club now expired.
