Five potential replacements for Big Sam

Fresh and strong reports have emerged this morning in regards to the new England manager’s position, and it just so happens that Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce is the front runner for the vacancy.

Big Sam has made no secret in the past about his desire to manage England one day, and it would be tough to begrudge him should he take the job. Sadly, this is not a football video game, and the likelihood of Allardcye managing both England and Sunderland is slim to none.

Sunderland never seem to do things easily. Finally, a stable manager who can take the club forward has came along and now the national team suddenly remember where Sunderland is on the map and look to prize away our manager, typical.

Although this situation is far from ideal, Sunderland have been in far bigger dilemmas than this one. Below we take a look at five potential candidates for the Wearside hot-seat in the even that Sam Allardyce brings his Sunderland career to a premature end.
