We’re now just days away from the new Premier League campaign and the excitement is certainly building across two-thirds of the north-east and nationwide.
Last season was a pretty special one for plenty of sides. Many, of course, remember the 2015/16 campaign for Leicester City’s historic rise to fame and glory as they lifted the Premier League trophy to cap a simply unbelievable campaign.
However, more importantly to us lot, Sunderland managed to survive by the scruff of their neck at the expense of our closest rivals, Newcastle United.
Despite a tough summer, the sights are firmly set towards the coming 2016/17 season and the preparations are well underway, with less than a week to spare before the Black Cats get started away to Manchester City.
So, to get us even more in the mood for the new season, I spoke to three keen Wearside writers from our site, along with myself, about what we can expect from the Black Cats this coming season!
